My name is Chris and I am a award winning 3D Modeler / Look Development Artist. I recently won the Academy of Art Spring Show of 2022 specifically in the Look Development category, it was a tough competition but one of my proudest achievements! I primarily focus on Look Development through lighting & Texturing but I have a background in modeling inside Maya and Z brush. For Look Dev I primarily use Substance Painter and Designer, and then I do my comps inside of Nuke. I recently got addicted to generating grooms with Xgen Interactive and doing cloth simulations inside of Marvelous Designer. I am a very technically focused individual but with a huge bubbly and extroverted personality to back it all up.
I've always been fascinated with the magic that CGI Artists can do to create this illusion of a reality that blends in with our own. Artists in the VFX Industry love to blur the lines of what is real and what is CG, and I aim to push that envelope even further and make the audience genuinely question themselves on how is it possible that what they saw isn't real.
For me it all started with my first copy of Star wars episode 1, I was taken aback by the special effects and thanks to my childlike wonder I was convinced it was all real. I kept begging my dad to take me to the cantina on Tatooine and told him one day ill fly around in space. Ever since I've been chasing that dream and its evolved throughout the years. Sadly I cant live in a fantasy world but through my mastery in 3D Modeling and CFX I can create them and inspire others! I want to give the audience a chance to escape into a world filled with imagination and help fill the next generation of artists with the amazement I once felt.
I strive to evolve and better myself each day as an artist. Doing 3D is my passion, my hobby, and my favorite pastime to unwind. I genuinely have a huge passion for what I do and its my dream to do it every day for the rest of my life! Thankfully I've had the opportunity to hone my skills in a live studio environment at my schools Studio X environment where I primarily focused on being a Look Development Artist. I look forward to what the industry has to offer and to the many adventures that await me!
